Summer Skin Hazards
Air-con, high temperatures and sweating are all problems that we face during the summer months. This can lead to dryness, increased sensitivity, blemishes and acne. During the summer months you need a routine that helps regulate oil production, while also keeping the skin hydrated where it needs it most. Read on to discover your perfect summer routine…
Your Summer Routine
Step one: Cleanse
It is possible to over cleanse the skin which can encourage sebum production. The trick is striking the balance between removing dirt, oil and impurities, while avoiding drawing out moisture from the skin. Cleanse morning and night. In the evening carryout a double cleanse, the first to remove make-up, the second to remove any leftover traces of make-up as well as dirt and oil.
Step two: Exfoliate
We recommend using a gentle exfoliator daily, or a harsher one twice a week. Exfoliating will help remove dead skin cells and stop them from blocking your pores. Remember if you are exfoliating regularly the new skin underneath will be more sensitive, so it’s important to use a sunscreen.
Step three: Treat
Summer skin needs a little extra care, particularly if you are hoping to achieve that summer glow. Try a serum morning and night, after you have cleansed but before you moisturize. We love our Organic Revitalizing Facial Glow Serum with DMAE, particularly for the summer months. Working to rejuvenate dull skin as well as nourish and hydrate, this serum will be your skin’s best friend this summer.
Step four: Moisturize
Many people focus more on moisturizing in the winter because the skin can become drier, but the truth is moisturizing is equally important in the summer too. In order to help the skin stay hydrated and regulate oil production a light moisturizer is perfect.
We swear by our Organic Facial Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamins E and B5. Rich in antioxidants, this moisturizer works to help fight spots and pimples, as well as providing the nourishment that summer skin needs.
Consider also adding a weekly treatment to your routine, such as a detoxing or hydrating face mask, depending on your own personal needs during the summer months. Try the above routine this summer to achieve glowing and healthy skin.
